What is OpenClaw and why I stopped just 'using AI'

Six months ago I was chatting with ChatGPT. At first it seemed like the future. Then it started lying to me using my own facts.

You tell it about your business, discuss numbers, make a decision - and a week later it gives you fiction based on your own data. Its memory doesn’t work the way I needed it to.

Then, in early February, I saw an Instagram reel about a revolution happening. Not somewhere in the future - right now. I started digging - and found OpenClaw.

What it actually is

OpenClaw is an open-source platform that turns AI models into real AI agents.

Not “asked - answered”. But agents that:

Live in your Telegram, WhatsApp or Discord
Remember everything - context, decisions, people, tasks
Work 24/7, even while you sleep

How I got here

I’m an entrepreneur from Kemerovo, Russia. Electronics, vape shops, equipment rental. I have tons of tasks that can be automated - not by hiring people, but with AI.

On YouTube I found Alexey Ulyanov - he shows in detail and in practice how everything works. And @denpleada showed how AI copilots actually work in business.

I thought: what if I build a whole team of agents for my tasks?

Honest about the journey

Bought a Claude Max subscription for $100. No turning back.

My advice: buy the subscription first, then set things up. When money’s on the line - motivation is completely different

First day I set everything up on my MacBook via terminal. With Gemini’s help, step by step. The whole day. And when it finally worked - I experienced real catharsis

But then - debugging. Constant. Proxies go down, subscriptions get blocked. One of the GPT agents got into a loop - sent me 50 identical messages in a row

Don’t spend big money on courses. Better to spend time understanding how things work. Then you actually know how to use it.
